Axe Without Action
Tonight, I went out on...something. It was probably more like hanging out as friends, but I think it actually qualifies as awkward. I'd gone out with the girl once before, I didn't really call her back after that until last week--which makes it about a year later. Last time, I thought things were going fine and there was some potential. We hang out tonight and...that's thrown out the window. She barely knew who Queen was. Yikes. Definitely don't think it would've worked out. Good thing she said she didn't want to date, too.
After the night was over--at about 8:15--I just drove out to the airport to process the whole thing. Really, I was pretty grateful I'd had the experience. However, it just left me cold on the romantic front. I do want someone to date. Someone I can share life with for a little bit--even if we don't get married. Obviously, it's not the right time, for that. After tonight, though, I definitely think I'm looking for someone who can "speak my language"--which is media. That includes art, music, movies, literature, theology, philosophy, and emotional/romantic attraction. Okay, so the last 3-4 aren't media. Deal with it. It's just more fulfilling and whole, it seems, when you can share a passion like creativity with someone. For me, creation is such an intimate, personal thing. Obviously, the gal I wind up with will probably do a little creating of the babymaking kind with me, but it'd be way cool if the two of us could just like put our minds together and create some uber-great art. That is what I'm looking for in a woman.
